چکیده
In this paper, we propose the use of sinusoidalfrequency modulation on a laser diode (LD) toachieve both frequency stabilization of the LDand a displacement measurement with ahomodyne interferometer. The central frequencyof the LD is stabilized to a Doppler broadened(linear) absorption or a Doppler free (saturated)absorption line of iodine (I2) molecule near thewavelength of 633 nm. The frequency of the LDis modulated across the absorption line and thesynchronous detection is utilized to find out theabsorption signal. The homodyne displacementmeasuring interferometer can be constructedwithout high cost and complexity, and can attainhigh resolution in the measurement.

Power-Recycled Weak-Value-Based Metrology Report Title We improve the precision of the interferometric weak-value-based beam deflection measurement by introducing a power recycling mirror, creating a resonant cavity. This results in all the light exiting to the detector with a large deflection, thus eliminating the inefficiency of the rare postselection. The signal-tonoise ratio of the deflecti...

Dynamic metrology holds the key to overcoming several challenging limitations of conventional optical metrology, especially with regards to precision freeform optical elements. We present two dynamic metrology systems: 1) adaptive interferometric null testing; and 2) instantaneous phase shifting deflectometry, along with an overview of a gradient data processing and surface reconstruction techn...

The addition of electronics, computers, and software to interferometry has enabled enormous improvements in optical metrology. This paper discusses four areas in which computerized interferometric measurement improvements have been made in the measurement of surface shape and surface roughness: (a) The use of computer-generated holograms for the testing of aspheric optics, (b) phase-shifting in...

We report an adaptive interferometric null testing method for overcoming the dynamic range limitations of conventional null testing approaches during unknown freeform optics metrology or optics manufacturing processes that require not-yet-completed surface measurements to guide the next fabrication process. In the presented adaptive method, a deformable mirror functions as an adaptable null com...

The signal-to-noise ratio of the deflection is itself magnified by the weak value. We discuss w...
